At the opening ceremony of the 2022-2023 school year which took place on the evening of November 19, 2022, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan, President of the Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA), sent an important message to the K67 new students about learning, doing scientific research, and joining startup movements to assert themselves.
According to Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan, in the 2021-2022 academic year, VNUA had 08 training programs successfully verified according to AUN-QA international standards, and the university’s teaching and learning activities were operated flexibly to ensure quality and minimize adverse effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Regarding scientific research, international publication and community service, VNUA achieved and exceeded the set targets; its international cooperation activities were expanded; the facilities, landscape and environment were greatly improved thanks to the training capacity and scientific research improvement project sponsored by the World Bank; and on November 25, VNUA would officially participate in the external evaluation project of the university quality accreditation according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training.
VNUA’s President emphasized that there would be no universities and no lecturers if there were no learners and no students. Therefore, students were always at the center, the core value of VNUA.

“The Vietnam National University of Agriculture is delighted that you have chosen to come to our common home, becoming a part of a university with a history of more than 66 years. To date, more than 120,000 university students have graduated from this university, they have become outstanding politicians, entrepreneurs, managers, ranchers, scientists, and teachers, reaping many successes and making important contributions to the development of the agricultural industry.”, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan emphasized.
VNUA’s President also sent a message to new students, “University is not a destination but a starting point”, new students need to be well prepared for a new journey, “not only there are roses but also thorns, not only smiles but also sweat and even tears; we must be ready for changes, must adapt in diversity, integrate but not dissolve”, “learn to do, learn to live together, learn to affirm and position ourselves” as the spirit of the UNESCO message on education.

On the occasion of the opening ceremony of the 2022-2023 academic year, VNUA also held a ceremony to award the valedictorian and runner-up titles, and award scholarships to study abroad for the students. Accordingly, the VNUA’s Council and President signed a decision to recognize 01 student who won the title of valedictorian and 02 students who won the title of runner-ups in the 2022 university enrollment examination.
VNUA’s President also signed a decision to recognize the scholarships to study abroad in 2022; talented freshman scholarships (100% tuition fee waiver); new K67 students welcoming scholarships; and rewards for 13 outstanding students from the 2021-2022 academic year.
Phan Boi Ngan, a student of class K67TYD, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine from Kim Lien High School (Ha Nam) who won the title of valedictorian of the university, expressed that she was very proud to be a student of Vietnam National University of Agriculture, a university with a history of more than 66 years and many achievements in training and science and technology, the country’s leading university in the field of agriculture.
